Capabilities

What I do in the field

Substation and medium voltage

Complete LOTO campaigns and switching procedures on collector feeders, MV step-up pad transformers, switchgear, disconnects, and bus sections. Absence of voltage verified by the hot-cold-hot method, cluster grounds applied by shotgun stick, field conditions confirmed against the switching order before anything is released for work.

Converters and inverters

Fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance on ABB frequency converters across a 200-turbine fleet, plus Ingeteam converters and Canterey CR20 generators. Alarm codes, fault logs, drive schematics, control board diagnostics, thermal management, and controlled component replacement to restore units to full generation.

Protection, controls, SCADA

Protective relay panels, instrument transformer circuits, and substation control wiring, traced against one-line diagrams and three-line schematics. Daily SCADA monitoring to catch anomalies and triage faults across the fleet, with work orders raised and closed in SAP and Dynamics/Resco.

Electrical safety

Arc flash hazard assessment, approach boundary discipline, CAT IV PPE, multi-source and group LOTO, non-contact voltage verification. Job safety plans and last-minute risk assessments authored before every activity, for every person on the crew.

  1. Sep 2023 to now

    Inventory Coordinator

A $5M spare parts inventory for the 400 MW fleet: substation components, MV transformer parts, converter and inverter modules, and safety-critical spares. Work order and procurement workflows run in SAP and Microsoft Dynamics/Resco, staging parts for scheduled maintenance and emergency corrective campaigns.

  2. Sep 2020 to Sep 2023

Field Service Technician II, Troubleshooting Crew Lead

Directed fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance across the converter fleet, executed LOTO and switching on medium-voltage substation equipment, and troubleshot ABB and Hitachi transformers and switchgear down to control circuit and transformer auxiliaries. Ran site orientations for OEM representatives, independent service providers, and vendors, then supervised their work to keep it inside the safety standard.
